Find a Licensed Immigration Adviser
When you need advice about your own situation, the right person is a Licensed Immigration Adviser (LIA) or a New Zealand lawyer. By law, only they (or other exempt persons) may give New Zealand immigration advice. We are not advisers and we do not assess your eligibility or represent you.
The official public register
You can search the official, public register of Licensed Immigration Advisers maintained by the Immigration Advisers Authority. Always confirm an adviser's licence on the official register before engaging them.
Our adviser directory
Signed-in members can browse our directory of Licensed Immigration Advisers, each with a licence number to verify on the official register. A listing is not an endorsement.
How to choose well
- Confirm the adviser holds a current full licence on the official register.
- Be cautious of anyone guaranteeing an outcome — no one can.
- Get the scope and fees in writing before you pay.
